Manage the App Experience

An Experience contains all of the content and data that makes up your app.  You can see a list of all Experiences and their status in the Manage Experience list.  To start a new Experience, select Add New which takes you to the app builder.

Top Menu Bar

The top menu bar provides essential tools for saving and managing your experience.  Clicking on KocoConnect takes you out of the app builder. Name your experience gives you a private name visible only in KocoConnect, and a public name that may display in the app. Select an accompanying image if the experience is to be displayed in a list on your app.  

The info button alerts you about buttons that are missing connections.  The arrows allow you to undo and redo your changes. SAVE your work frequently.

The Left Control Panel

The panel on the left gives you control over global settings that apply to the whole application.


Alerts – Send users a push notification based on the user’s physical location.

Enable the Alerts feature with the green toggle. Type your message and select the locations that will trigger the notification.  If you haven’t set up locations in Manage Locations, learn how to do this in Getting Started.


Location – A More Advanced Feature to Deliver Content Based on Your User’s Physical Location.

This feature is the fastest way to create location-based experiences in any mobile app. By enabling the Location feature, the content of your experience ONLY becomes accessible when your user visits a particular location.    

Kocomojo couples GPS geofencing and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Beacons to enable location-triggered experiences. Set up locations under Manage Locations to use this feature.

To enable this feature in your app, select the locations in the list to trigger where you want your users to see the content of your experience. It’s best used the Location feature when retrofitting existing apps with the Kocomojo SDK or when linking experiences together.


Time – Schedule When You Want Your App’s Content to Display.

Use this feature if you want to schedule your experience to display ONLY during a particular time frame. Select the hours when you want your content to be available to users such as business hours or custom hours, and then choose the start and end dates.  This feature is excellent for numerous uses such as scheduling holiday content, classroom content, or conference content.



It’s best to use this feature when retrofitting existing apps with the Kocomojo SDK or when linking experiences together.


In certain apps, locations display on a map with the pins.  Maps feature is used to select the displayed locations.  Set up locations in the Location Manager.  Apps with maps are available through the Kocomojo Custom App Building Services. Contact Kocomojo for more information on apps with maps.



The Experience Canvas

The scrollable canvas gives you a large working space to set up the app’s flow. Zoom in and out with the Magnifier in the upper right gray bar.

Preview your designs on different screen sizes by selecting the iOS or Android device simulator in the top gray bar and the device type.  KocoConnect simulates Ipad, 8+, X, 8, SE for iOS and SD and HD for Android.

Working with Screens on the Experience Canvas

Each Screen has a set of controls at the top.



  • The Screen Name is editable.  In this example, it is called MENU.
  • The Home icon identifies which screen is the starting point for the Experience. This must be selected for the first screen in the series.
  • A Lock icon restricts content for apps that require a login, so only authorized and logged-in users can access locked content.  For example, displaying a user’s profile screen requires a login to generate profile information.  (For information on building apps with login, Contact Kocomojo.)
  • Duplicate icon clones the screen.
  • Trash icon deletes the screen.
  • Rearrange the order of your screens by clicking and dragging to the desired location on the Canvas.
  • Edit the screen by clicking the Edit Design button below or double-clicking the screen. Editing takes you into the Screen Builder.
